I have a BA in Religious Education with a Music Minor from a school in Recife, Brazil, and a Master’s in Church Music with Piano Concentration from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. I have taught for about 28 years, beginners to early advanced. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and speak/read/write some Spanish. Most importantly, I love teaching, love music and love children!
When not teaching piano, I am homeschooling our three children, cooking, baking, hosting company, reading, or involved in volunteer projects. I have played piano for church for many years, but am currently taking a break as I am involved in so many other activities. I live with my wonderful husband, Mark, and three children, in Clark County, OH. We love hiking, camping, playing games, reading together, and volunteering together. We also enjoy watching old TV shows/movies, as well as the newer Hallmark mysteries. 😊
Born in Philadelphia of Brazilian parents, I ended up spending a total of 12 years in Brazil, where I attended junior high, high school and college.
Several years ago, as I began teaching more children with special needs, I worked on a huge research project to learn how I can best meet their needs. Every child is unique and has amazing potential. I seek to work to help each child meet that potential. As I mentioned to a friend, I hope and pray that I can be to each child/student what Ann Sullivan was to Helen Keller. I love teaching, meeting new people, and making new friends. I look forward to teaching your child!
