Sonoma Fire by Joshua Burke (Age: 14)

On October 8th 2017, a wildfire (officially known as the nuns fire) started up in Sonoma County, in Northern California.  The fire started somewhere between 9 and 11 p.m. and affected thousands of people (around 20,000). The amount of smoke took the record of worst air pollution in northern California. Two hospitals were evacuated, and many homes burned to the ground. Because of the high wind speed, the fire was spreading more than a football field every 3 seconds. More than 240 people ran from the fire, just as an attempt to get away, and only 57 of those people were found safe. The person / cause of the fire is still unknown, he / she may have died during all of this, or been one of many missing people
