Butterflies by Emily Chavez (Age: 10)

Updated: May 17, 2020

Butterflies are beautiful, flying insects with large scaly wings. There’s so many butterflies with different colors and patterns on their wings. That is so cool! They have six jointed legs, three body parts, a pair of antennae, compound eyes, and an exoskeleton. The body parts are the head thorax which is the chest, and abdomen (the tail end). This is how the Life Cycle goes. First, it starts with an egg. Next, the egg turns into a caterpillar. Then the caterpillar turns into a pupa. Finally, the pupa starts coming out and it turns into a butterfly. That’s all we need to know about butterflies.
