An Interview with Laura Ingalls Wilder By: Tiffany Thompkins (Age: 10)

Laura Ingalls Wilder is a young girl who lives in little log house in the big woods. Her life is very different from today’s present life. There were no tvs, no roads just trees and lots of grass.

Q. How old are you?

A. I am about 5 maybe 6 years old.

Q. How many people are in your family?

A. Just 5. Ma, Pa, Carrie, Mary and me.

Q. Describe your home.

A. My home is made of logs and has three rooms. An attic, a small bedroom, and the big room. Sometimes we play in the attic when it is raining.

Q. How many pets do you have?

A. I have two. Jack, the dog and Susan the cat.

Q. What kind of toys do you play with?

A. My sisters and I play with dolls. My doll is a fresh picked corn, but my sister has a real doll that she shares with me.

Q. What is favorite food?

A. I think bear meat is good. When my dad kills a bear, we skin it. We then save some of the meat for later and cook the rest.

Q. What is your favorite story your dad tells you?

A. I love the story of “Pa and the Voice in the Woods".
