Laura Kennedy has her Associates Degree in Early Childhood (2003 from Community College Allegheny County), Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (2006 from Geneva College) and Master’s Degree in Special Education (2009 from Geneva College). With these she has received her certifications in Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education. She is currently home with her three kids, ages 5, 4, 2. When Laura was in the classroom, she taught mostly the primary grades but has experience with all elementary grades. Being home with her kids has taught Laura not only how to create her own fun, personalized curriculum but also how to be more creative with the hands-on approach. I love to create fun games and activities that are beneficial to everyday learning.
Laura also have a wonderful husband and a cat. They live in the Hermitage Pennsylvania area. She loves to garden, read, make crafts and especially to bake/cook. The fall winter seasons are her favorite time in the kitchen and her kids love to bake and help in the kitchen as well. Laura can often be found with a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket. She loves almost anything chocolate.
Laura is excited to meet each of you in class. When she taught in the classroom, she was passionate about teaching kids to set goals and achieving them. This is so important with any young child, but especially with special needs kids as they need to know they too can accomplish goals in life. Laura hopes this comes across in the lessons, and she looks forward to working not only with each child but with each family.
