Hi there! My name is Ivania, and I have been an ESL teacher for over a year now. In that time, I have enjoyed working with students from all over the world. I currently live in New Braunfels, a German town in Texas. I have a Bachelor’s in Child Development and a Master’s in Education. I have been working with children from the time I graduated high school. I have always worked in special education and have now found a love for ESL. I earned my TEFL certification in the summer of 2019, which has allowed me to broaden my range of teaching. My newest venture has been to dive into ASL in which I am once again the eager student. Throughout the years of teaching, I have spent significant time with children with special needs. My experience with special education has allowed me to meet awesome children across all spectrums and taught me to adapt and learn new ways to teach these students. I have worked in multiple teaching environments, ranging from private schools, to online classrooms.
I am a mother of two, stepmom to two more, a wife, and fur mom to a dog and cat. I enjoy most sports, football especially. When I am not teaching or watching sports on TV, I love to craft and volunteer with the nonprofit football organization my husband and I manage. I enjoy working with students and seeing their growth with every lesson we share together. I personally believe all students have the ability to learn, and should be given every opportunity to, in the way they benefit the most. I can’t wait to meet you, and I look forward to seeing you in my next class!
