Session 1: Inventors
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
Students will learn the the terminology inventions, inventor and innovations. We'll explore famous inventors and their inventions. We'll learn how these invention helped change the world. Students will be introduced to problem solving and critical thinking. Why create an invention? How will the invention help society?
HOMEWORK:
Research an invention and it's inventor. Complete the inventorsandinventions.pdf. Be ready to share your report with the class in the next session.
Session 2: Inventions
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
Students will identify a problem in current society and discuss with the class how they would solve the problem. What technology could be developed that hasn't been developed yet to solve the problem? What is the process of creating something, registering it and then selling it to an investor or to the public? Students will learn the process of creating, testing and marketing an invention. They will learn how to create their own patent application. We'll take a look at inventions that were created by kids.

Create your invention patent application. Be ready to share the application with the class next session.
Session 3: Innovations
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
Students will present their invention patent application. What is an innovation and how is it different from an invention? Students will explore different innovations that have transformed our world for the better. Students will learn the terminology innovation, enhancement and upgrade. We'll explore famous innovators and their innovations. What are innovators currently working on in the real world?
HOMEWORK:
Choose an invention that you would like to innovate. Create a patent for your innovation. Be ready to share the application with the class next session.
Session 4: Innovation Fairs, Funding and Marketing
LESSON OBJECTIVES:
Students will present their innovation patent application. We'll explore innovation fairs. The class will discover how to market their inventions and innovations. They'll learn how to achieve funding for their ideas.
